Methylcobalamin, an active coenzyme form of vitamin B-12, is essential for cell growth and replication. It is more concentrated than other forms of B-12 in the cerebral spinal fluid where it can be used by the central nervous system. It donates methyl groups to the myelin sheath that insulates certain nerve fibers. It may also play a role in maintaining a healthy sleep-wake cycle, as well as normal nerve function.*
Suggested Use:
1 lozenge 1 to 3 times daily. For best results, allow to dissolve in the mouth before swallowing.
Allergies:
Suitable for vegetarians. Contains no yeast, dairy, egg, gluten, soy or wheat. Contains no sugar, starch, salt, preservatives, or artificial color, flavor or fragrance.

Methylcobalamin is a multi-purpose nutrient supporting red blood cell formation, the function of the myelin sheath for healthy nerves, and the synthesis of DNA. Vitamin B-12 also supports the production of SAMe, the body’s main methyl donor necessary to the functioning of many critical metabolic systems and the normal regulation of homocysteine. Normal levels of homocysteine in the blood support cardiovascular health and normal function of the endothelial cells that line the walls of the arteries.
Vitamin B-12 deficiencies are usually the result of poor absorption rather than poor dietary intake. Due to aging, the body’s ability to produce enough stomach acid for absorption of B-12 may be greatly reduced. Vegetarians who avoid meat and fish are also at risk for low levels of vitamin B-12.
Supplementing with the coenzyme form of vitamin B-12 eliminates intermediate metabolic steps, making this vitamin immediately available to work in the body upon absorption. The quick-dissolve form makes it easier for the elderly who may have difficulty swallowing and processing nutrients in their digestive systems.
